What to blog...

I received an email from my mom a couple of days ago, chastising me on my lack of blogs lately. It's not that nothing is going on, our lives are quite chaotic right now. Courtney recently started winter colorquard, Maddy and Kenna are taking piano, and other school activities keep us running. My mom also asked about the house. How much should I write about the house? I like my house, it is beautiful, but I am a little embarrassed by it, and it is just a house. I am not the kind of person to say, "Hey, look at me. Look at how wonderful my house, life, kids, dumb dog, car........" you get the picture. I want to keep people updated on the progress without seeming pretentious. Not for the readers benefit, but because I want to be true to me. It wouldn't matter to me if I lived in a 300 square foot house, or a 15,000 square foot house (it's not even close), as long as the five people on the right of this screen are with me it is my HOME. And, besides, how exciting is it to write about wiring, duct work and septic tanks?

now of course that depends on who your readers are. =) if its my husband, then he wants to hear all about wires, duct work & septic tanks...if its me, i love anything you put on here about your life. its fun to feel like i'm a part of it, even if it is only the peanut gallery part (that suits me just fine, lol). plus, a busy life is a good life. we've been warned about idle hands, so keep 'em busy sister! =) Hope you are having a fantastic week...and that you DO find 5 minutes to put your feet up somewhere in the midst of it all.

That is exactly how I feel. It is just a house. No big deal, nothing fancy, just a house. Somewhere to be comfortable and where we can all come and relax and have fun. People chastise me for not inviting them over to see our house - but that seems like bragging, so anyone who want to come by can - but be prepared that it is nothing special. Glad you will be our neighbors - two ordinary families doing ordinary things!

I love your blog because you're so creative. If you wrote about wiring, it would probably be the first time I read and enjoyed anything about it. The house is just cool. I drove by it Sunday taking someone home and it looks just like the pics;)

Your new home will be PERFECT for your family. I, for one, love seeing the progress and hearing the latest home news. I could just look out of my bedroom window, but it's more fun hearing about it from you.

I hear ya! I have writers block once in awhile and I get the complaints from my sister that I'm not updating enough. I do like hearing about the updates on your house, the progress is always exciting to me. I hope you're having a nice day. We have sunshine, yay!!!
