If I could turn back time....

Oh how I wish I had the power to redo yesterday! I have heard that bad things come in threes, and after what happened yesterday I believe it.

My nephew called and asked if he could show our house to someone who was interested in having him build her a house with the help of our builder. As I was quickly picking up, I took a step back and felt my laptop under my foot. I didn't know I did any damage until later when I finally had time to sit down and boot up my computer.

Yes, a big 'ole crack in the corner of the screen. I was sick!

If that wasn't enough for one day, Cam was replacing the fuel pump in his car with the help of his dad and a friend. I asked him for a phone number I knew he had saved in his phone. He pulled it out and there was nothing on his screen. His phone was in his pocket and when he leaned against something in the car, it cracked. Ugh!

I really just wanted to climb in bed to get this day over with, when, I remembered that I promised Mckenna that I would make brownies for her teacher for teacher appreciation week. I decided to be creative and bake them in a heart shape pan. I should have known with the day I was having that it wasn't meant to be. Of course, the middle stuck to the pan. Grrr!

To end this post on a positive note; my computer will be fixed Monday. (an expensive lesson I hope never to learn again) Cameron replaced his phone with a cheapo phone, and the kids got some yummy, but crumbly brownies!

I am just barely reading this now and I saw you today. You were happy and cheery and I would never have known about the mishaps.

I had a similar day the other week when I washed Brent's I-pod. I called him in tears. Luckily, he was very understanding. Just electronics he said. PHEW!!

that was the speed of my friday! exams were cruising right along in the morning...swimmingly in fact! went to lunch, and then returned ready to conquer the afternoon line-up in record time...not to be had. my positioning with the ancient panorex xray machine was botched (which is always tricky anyhow). and the developer machine there is archaic & SLOW! after realizing i needed to take another xray (and after 2 other coworkers had used the machine & reloaded the film cartridge), took the (only slightly annoyed at this point) patient back in. inserted the film into the developer. a minute later the 2nd coworker's film came out COMPLETELY EXPOSED (meaning clear with NO XRAY on it)!!! next thing i knew MINE DID THE SAME THING!!! turns out the 1st employee (who's never had to develop on her own until friday) had opened the dark room door before remembering to close up the new film's box-so the WHOLE box was bad! (not cheap!) loaded from a new box of film, and pleaded with the patient for a 3RD xray and FINALLY nailed it. put the rest of my exams about 25 minutes behind schedule...but i did remember that it is all for my experience, and that without days like those humility would not be in my life. hope you have a great mother's day! =)

That is a crummy day! So glad your third bad thing wasn't anything else with a screen like a TV or something!
